How to Download, Install, and Set Up Glimp
From downloading the installer to launching your first session — here's everything you need to get Glimp running on your machine.
Step 1 — Download
Glimp is currently available for Windows 10 and later (64-bit). macOS support is coming soon.
Head to the Download section on goglimp.com and click the Windows download button. The installer is around 25 MB and downloads directly to your machine.
Download GlimpStep 2 — Install
Run the downloaded installer and follow the prompts. The installation takes under a minute. Once complete, Glimp appears in your Start Menu and optionally on your desktop.
System requirement
Windows 10 or later · 64-bit · 4 GB RAM minimum · Microphone required for transcription
Step 3 — Create Your Account
Launch Glimp and you'll see the login screen. Two options:
Sign up with Google
Click Sign in with Google. Your browser opens for the OAuth flow, then returns you to the app automatically. This is the fastest option.
Sign up with email
Click Sign Up, fill in your name, email, and password, accept the Terms of Service, and create your account. Use a real email address — disposable addresses are blocked.
Step 4 — Add Your Resume
This is the most impactful setup step. Go to Settings → Resume Context and paste your full resume (up to 10,000 characters). Click Update to save it.
Once saved, Glimp's AI references your actual experience in every answer — your real projects, technologies, and roles — instead of generic suggestions. The difference in answer quality is significant.
Step 5 — Set Your AI Persona
In Settings → AI Persona & Instructions, write a brief instruction that tells the AI how to behave in your sessions. You can leave it blank to use the default, or customise it for your role. Examples:
Software Engineering
“You are a senior software engineer. Answer coding and system design questions clearly with examples.”
Product Management
“You are a product coach. Help me answer PM interview questions using frameworks and structure.”
Behavioral / HR
“Help me answer HR and behavioral questions using STAR format based on my resume.”
Step 6 — Launch Your First Session
Back on the Overview tab, select your microphone from the dropdown. Use earphones if you can — this keeps your mic from picking up speaker audio and improves transcription accuracy.
Click LAUNCH GLIMP. The overlay opens. Check that STEALTH is green in the top right — this means the overlay is invisible to screen sharing.
You're live. Glimp is transcribing the conversation in real time. When you want the AI's input, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter.
Key Shortcuts to Know

You're Ready
That's the full setup. Run through a mock session on your own before the real interview — get comfortable with the shortcuts and where the overlay sits on your screen. When it's live, you want muscle memory, not hesitation.
